This is a hands-on quality role with a strong focus on CMM inspection, dimensional verification, and compliance with recognised quality standards. This position would suit either: A developing quality professional with solid CMM capability looking to progress, or A fully experienced Quality Engineer / Inspector seeking a stable, long-term role within a structured quality environment. Important Requirement Candidates must be confident in operating a CMM. This is a mandatory requirement — applications without hands-on CMM experience will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Carry out dimensional inspection of precision-engineered components using CMMs (offline programming and operation). Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications. Prepare and review FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports) and ISIR documentation. Verify material certification and ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements. Conduct manual inspection using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and gauges. Accurately record inspection results and maintain full traceability in line with quality management systems. Raise and report non-conformances, supporting investigations and corrective actions where required. Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and support production. Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the quality function. Support internal and external audits when required. Skills & Experience Essential: Proven experience in a manufacturing inspection or quality role within an engineering environment. Confident operation of CMM equipment (non-negotiable). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems. Experience preparing FAIR and ISIR documentation. Strong attention to detail with clear documentation and reporting skills. Confident communicator, able to liaise across departments. Desirable: Formal engineering or quality qualifications (HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent). Experience supporting internal or external audits. Exposure to customer-specific quality standards. Awareness of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
